Sophie takes 5th place
Sophie Godley (Lindrick) finally came 5th at the Abu Dhabi Junior Girls Championship carding 71, 75, 78 total 224 for the three rounds. Charlotte Austwick (Pike Hills) finished 7th with rounds of 74, 78, 81 total 233.

Jodi Ewart finishes 6th at Futures Tour Q School
Jodi Ewart will turn professional next summer after completing her degree at the University of New Mexico. She earned her playing rights after finishing in a share of sixth place at the qualifying school for the US Duramed Futures tour in Florida. Jodi who was 4 under par for the event and was one of only 11 players who finished par or better. The future tour is the developmental tour of the LPGA

Yorkshire Girl selected as one of Six players for the Curtis Cup
Jodi Ewart (Catterick) has been selected to represent Great Britain and Ireland in the Curtis Cup for a second time.
Jodi has just come 2nd with a score of 11 under par whilst defending her title in the Branch Law Firm/Dick McQuire Invitational in the US. |

Honorary Member of the YLCGA – Jodi Ewart
At the end of 2008, Jodi Ewart was made an Honorary Member of the YLCGA in recognition of her inclusion in the Curtis Cup Team (the highest accolade for a lady amateur golfer). Jodi was also in the Vagliano Cup Team earlier this year and Brenda Parker, President of the YLCGA, and Sue Johnson went to Hamburg to watch the matches. Brenda, together with Maureen Lockett and Sue, took the opportunity to make a special presentation to Jodi to mark her Honorary Membership. |

Two Yorkshire Girls help England to the Semi-finals
Jodi Ewart (Catterick) and Emma Brown (Malton and Norton) notched up points against the Netherlands to secure a semi-final place against France in the European Women’s Team Championship in Bled, Slovenia.
Jodi Ewart and Rachel Jennings beat Chrisje De Vries and Maake Naafs 1 up in the foursomes.
Jodi also secured a victory against Maake Naafs in the singles 7 and 6. Other singles victories included Emma Brown beating De Vries 1 up. |

2 Yorkshire Players were only a handful of competitors to complete their first round in the European Ladies Team Championship at Bled Slovenia, before storms halted play for the day. Jodi Ewart (Catterick) 3 over 76 and Emma Brown (Malton and Norton) 77. Round 1 resumes tomorrow (Wednesday 8th July 2009). |

Jodi Ewart ties for 10th place
Yorkshire’s Jodi Ewart (Catterick) tied for 10th place at the AIB Ladies Irish Open at Portmanock Links. Jodi was 2 under par for the event which included a hole-in-one at the 164 yard 3rd during the second round. Well done Jodi. |

Jodi Ewart (Catterick) and Ellie Robinson (Middlesbrough & Brass Castle) have successfully qualified for the final 64 players at this years Ladies British Amateur Open Championship at Royal St. David’s, seeded 10th and 14th respectively. They commence the next round which is matchplay this morning (11th June) with Ellie playing Samantha Birks (Wales) at 10.02 and Jodi playing Diana Cantu (Mexico) at 11.06. The LGU run an on-going scoreboard on their web-site www.lgu.org. |

Jodi Ewart has been named to the Duramed National Golf Coaches Association Division I All-American First Team. Jodi, who is studying at the University of New Mexico has finished the 2008-09 College season ranked ninth nationally in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index . She had seven top-five finishes in 10 tournaments, including two wins. |

Having made an excellent start to the 2009 season, coming 3rd in the Helen Holm Scottish Open and a semi-finalist at the English Championship, Emma Brown (Malton and Norton) has been recalled to the England team for the European Ladies Team Championship which will be held at Bled, Slovenia, from 7-11 July.
Emma retired from international competition in 2006, having played in three Curtis Cup teams and representing England for more than 10 years
She will be joined on the team by Jodi Ewart (Catterick). |

Jodi Ewart (Catterick) has been named as Captain of the England Nation’s Cup team at the Ladies British Amateur Championship being held at Royal St Davids, Harlech, from 9-13 June.
Ellie Robinson (Middlesbrough) is also competing in the event. |

MOUNTAIN WEST WOMEN’S CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP
Jodi Ewart of Catterick, studying at New Mexico University, has become the Mountain West Women’s Conference Player of the Year – the first player to win the title three years in succession. She finished fourth in the Conference Championship and also helped her university to win the team prize. |

Top three finish for Emma Brown in the Helen Holm Scottish Championship
After taking 3rd place in the Formby Leveret at the end of March, Emma Brown has continued her run of form with 3rd place in the Helen Holm Scottish Women’s Strokeplay Championship at Troon. Emma was 3 under par for the tournament and birdied four of the last seven holes in the final round. Naomi Edwards also finished in the top ten. |
